Context

Choose a kind of context to see what it added to the review.

Monthly review

Net revenue, September 2026

$112,000+12% on August ($100,000)

  • Paid invoices $120,000 less refunds $8,000, test accounts excluded
  • Paid invoices only; drafts and voids left out
  • Amounts in dollars, converted from cents
Net revenue by plan
Starter$18,000
Growth$46,000
Scale$48,000
Sample data. Example: the context behind a monthly review.

Different context, different jobs

Four kinds of context, and what each one added to a single month-end review.

How it works

  1. Add your context

Write a rule, upload reference material, or define a skill.

  2. Try a real question

See how the agent uses what you added.

  3. Refine and test again

Update the wording and rerun the questions that matter.

Make business definitions explicit

Write a rule in plain language, like “For revenue, subtract refunds and exclude test accounts.” Rules are read with every question, so spell out the definitions, exclusions and reporting conventions your team uses, then try a real question.

  • Write rules one at a time
  • Or upload a document and pull the rules out of it
Finance agentInteractive example

What was net revenue in September?

$112,000

$120,000 paid − $8,000 refunded = $112,000

Rule: “For net revenue, subtract refunds issued in the period and exclude test accounts.”

Sample comparison. Test the question after changing a definition.

With the rule: $112,000.

Background it looks up when it’s relevant

Upload metric definitions, reporting policies or a pricing sheet, and the agent searches them by meaning and keywords when a question touches them. Notes on each table explain what a row is and what its columns hold.

  • PDF, Word, CSV, Excel or text up to 10 MB, or a two-minute voice note
  • Table notes are written when you connect, and yours to edit

Steps for the tasks you repeat

A skill is how your team runs a set task, like a month-end revenue review: compare with last month, break it down by plan, explain refunds. It can apply on its own when the task comes up, or only when someone asks for it.

  • Write it, or draft it with AI
  • Upload a SKILL.md or import one from GitHub

Monthly review

Automatic
  1. Compare with the previous month
  2. Break the total down by plan
  3. Explain what changed

Sample data. Example skill: it applies on its own when a task looks like a monthly review.

Frequently asked questions

How are rules different from reference documents?

Rules are instructions the agent reads with every question. Reference documents are background it looks up when a question needs them.

What are table notes for?

They explain what a table holds, what one row represents, and quirks a column name can’t, like amounts stored in cents. They’re written when you connect a source, and you can edit or regenerate them.

When should I use a skill?

For a repeatable procedure, such as a monthly performance review. Use a rule for a definition or instruction that applies more broadly.

Which files can I upload?

PDF, Word, CSV, Excel and text files up to 10 MB each. To pull rules out of a document, upload it on the Rules page.

Can different agents have different context?

Yes. Rules, documents and skills belong to an agent, so finance and marketing can each have their own.
